Salsa Chili

  1. 1 lb. ground beef
  2. 1 (1/2 cup) medium onion, chopped
  3. 1 jar (16 oz.) medium or hot salsa (2 cups)
  4. 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies, drained
  5. 2 teaspoons chili powder
  6. 1 can (15-16 oz.) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  7. shredded cheddar cheese, if desired
  8. sliced green onion, if desired

Cook beef and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.

Mix beef, onion, salsa, chilies and chili powder in 3-1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours. Stir in beans. Cover and cook on low heat setting about 5 minutes or until hot. Top with cheese and onion.
