Fruity Winter Munch Mix

7 cups (21 servings, 1/3 cup each)

A low sodium, cholesterol free snack


  1. 5 cups shredded wheat spoon size cereal
  2. 1 cup pecan halves
  3. 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
  4. 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  5. 1/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  6. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. 1/3 cup dried apricots
  8. 1/3 cup dried pears
  9. 1/3 cup dried cherries

Mix cereal and pecans in 15x10x1- inch baking pan. Melt margarine, sugar, juice concentrate and cinnamon in a 1 cup glass measuring cup on HIGH for 30 second; stir.

Drizzle evenly over cereal mixture in pan; toss to coat.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until crisp, stirring after 15 minutes. Cool completely. Stir in dried fruit.

Store in airtight container at room temperature.
