Worcestershire Hamburgers

Yield:
Makes 8 patties

Ingredients:

  1. Hamburger:
  2. 2 lbs. ground beef
  3. 2 teaspoons salt
  4. 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  5. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  6. 1/2 cup ice water
  7. Sauce:
  8. 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  9. 1/4 cup water
  10. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  11. 1 tablespoon minced onion
  12. 2 tablespoons minced green pepper
  13. 2 tablespoons minced celery
Directions:

Hamburger:
Combine meat with salt and pepper. Mix Worcestershire with ice water and pour over meat. Blend thoroughly and shape into 8 patties. Broil or pan-fry hamburgers quickly to desired degree of doneness. Serve hot with sauce.

Sauce:
Combine all ingredients and simmer 10 minutes.
