Yield: 6 cups
|1||day old bakery sub roll (6- inch) or crusty bread of about the same size|
|1/4||cup||(1/2 stick) unsalted butter|
|1||clove||(large) minced garlic (about 1 tsp)|
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Using a serrated knife, slice bread into 1- inch pieces; place in large bowl.
Place butter and garlic in microwave safe bowl and microwave on HIGH for 45 seconds or until the butter is melted. Pour over bread and toss to coat evenly.
Spread croutons in single layer in baking pan. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden.
When completely cool, store croutons in an airtight container.
